Xiaomi is the Best Selling Smartphone in India in 2017

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 was found to be the best selling smartphone in India for calendar year 2017. The budget-friendly phone, found to be sold the higher no. of units in 2017. The achievement does not stick with xiaomi only.  Redmi note 4 leading the industry followed by Xiaomi Redmi 4 at the second position, Samsung Galaxy J2 at third, OPPO A37 at fourth, Xiaomi Redmi 4A at fifth. These were the top 5 best selling smartphone of last year.

Xiaomi has left behind the samsung with 25 percent of shipment market share. Samsung stood with 23 market share in Q4 2017. No doubt, samsung is top-ranked with 24 percent share as compared to Xiaomi with 19 percent share in 2017.

Xiaomi note 4, best selling smartphone of 2017 was launched in India on January, priced between ₹9,999 and ₹12,999. It sold more than one million units in just 45 days of the launch means every unit sold in 4 seconds. The first sale of the redmi note 4 was the biggest sale in history where 25,000 phones sold in just 10 minutes on Flipkart and mi.com.

Redmi Note 4 with 5.5-inch display with full HD resolution powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. The basic variant priced at 9,999 with 2GB+32GB, variant. The another variant with 3GB+32GB for 10,999 and the last one for Rs 12,999 with 4GB+64GB storage. This is not only budget-friendly smartphone, being the top-selling smartphone, it comes with impressive features. The feature of fingerprint sensor at back, 13MP rear camera with the 5MP front camera, and 4G volte support.

Xiaomi claimed to sell 5 million units in the 6 months since its launch. Redmi Note 4 broke all the record to become the best selling smartphone in Q1 & Q2. The company planned to sell a total of 7 million unit in the year of 2017 and 5 million units in 6 months were the biggest achievement for Xiaomi. Meanwhile, in November 2017, Xiaomi note 4 price slashed by Rs 1,000. The redmi note 4 , 4GB variant priced at 11,999 and 3 GB variant priced at Rs 9,999. Xiaomi claimed that it had sold over 10 million units of smartphones in the month of October. , This is the second consecutive month, in September also; Xiaomi also sold 10 million units.

Since July 2014, Xiaomi has been giving tough competition to companies like OnePlus, Oppo, and Vivo. The company is already among the top five smartphone manufacturer and also become a Google partner for the launching of Android Oreo. MI brand owner is going to take on Huawei to become the market leader in China in 2020.
